How this calculator works
- R-DRIVER Driver = day reduced. Conductor = the eight digits of DD-MM-YYYY summed once, reduced.
- R-KUA Kua: 1900s male 10 - r, female r + 5; 2000s male 9 - r, female r + 6; January births use the previous year; Kua 5 becomes 2 for men and 8 for women.
- R-NAME Name number = all letters; soul = vowels; personality = consonants. Honorifics are stripped.
- R-MODES single reduces everything to 1 to 9; master_date keeps 11, 22, 33 in date numbers; master_any keeps them anywhere; western_ruling keeps 10, 11, 22; master_extended keeps 44 too.
- R-KARMIC 13, 14, 16 and 19 are flagged wherever they appear as an unreduced total.
Not what this tells you. A number is a lens, not a label. The same 8 reads as structure in one founder and delay in another once the rest of the chart is in view.
The reason
The driver is the day of birth reduced (mulank), the conductor is the whole date summed once and reduced (bhagyank), and the Kua follows the Feng Shui formula by sex and century, with the rule that Kua 5 does not exist. Name numbers use the letter table; vowels give the soul number and consonants the personality.
Where the schools disagree
- Western practice keeps master numbers by default; Indian business practice reduces everything. The mode switch exists so the reader can see both.

Questions founders ask
What is the difference between driver and conductor?
The driver (mulank) is how a person acts; the conductor (bhagyank) is what the years bring. The driver comes from the day of birth, the conductor from the whole date.
Why does my Kua say 2 or 8 when the formula gives 5?
Because Kua 5 does not exist in the Eight Mansions system; men take 2 and women take 8. The source site's sample printed a Kua 5 and this engine never does.
Which reduction mode should I use?
single, unless you are comparing with a Western reading. The rest of this site reads everything in single mode.
